Now we actually tension the latex liner by installing it over the cap end of the tubular receiver housing. At this point we need to pay attention to three things:

 

	Getting the Liner Well Centered on the Cap End.
	Avoiding any Twisting of the Liner Material.
	Adjusting the Desired End-to-End Tension.

As you can see in the photo see at the top of the page, when first slipped over the end, you usually need to fiddle with the fit. This liner has ended up badly off center. This is easily adjusted by pulling  more or less liner material over the outer edge at various places around the housing rim. Eventually, you should end up with a nice even top, well centered and without any twisting of the liner material from end to end, as shown in the right hand photo.

Note how even with relatively minor tension, the cap end, without any supporting help from an underlying constrictor, forms quite a pronounced and deeply tapered funnel shape.
